Good Questions, Honest Answers

Everything San Francisco neighbors usually want to know before their first visit — and if we missed one, just call.

What parts of San Francisco and the Bay Area do you cover?

We're based in San Francisco (94102) and cover about a 20-mile reach. That's every neighborhood in the city — the Sunset and Richmond, Noe Valley, the Mission, Bernal Heights, Pacific Heights, the Marina, SoMa, the Excelsior and the rest — plus Daly City, Brisbane, South San Francisco, San Bruno and Pacifica down the Peninsula, Sausalito across the Golden Gate, and Oakland across the Bay Bridge. If you're close to that line, call and we'll usually make it work.

Are your pros licensed and insured?

Yes. The work is done by insured local pros who hold the licenses and registrations required in California and San Francisco for the job at hand, so electrical and plumbing connections are handled by licensed tradespeople. Ask us anything before we start.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. For most small jobs a few photos and a short call are enough for a firm price. Bigger lists or anything we can't judge from pictures get a free in-person look. Either way you'll have the number before anything is scheduled.

Are you insured, and can you send a certificate to my building?

We carry general-liability insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your property manager or HOA before the job. Many San Francisco condo and co-op buildings require one before a vendor can use the elevator or loading area, so tell us who should be named on it and we'll take care of it ahead of time.

How does pricing work?

We quote the job rather than the clock wherever we can. For an open-ended punch list we agree on a rate and a rough scope up front so nothing surprises you. Parking and building access are part of how we plan a visit, and bundling several jobs into one trip is almost always the best value.

Do you take on electrical and plumbing jobs, or just carpentry?

Both. Alongside drywall and plaster, doors, mounting, assembly, fences, gutters, painting and storage, we install ceiling fans and fan boxes, swap and connect light fixtures, put in dimmers and smart switches, wire doorbells and thermostats, and repair or replace faucets, toilets, disposals and supply lines. Our licensed electricians and plumbers take those parts of the list, so a single visit can clear the whole thing — handy in a city where parking alone makes every extra appointment a chore.

Can you help with earthquake readiness?

Yes, and it's one of the most useful things we do in this city. We secure tall bookcases and dressers to studs, add safety latches to kitchen cabinets, mount TVs and art with quake-rated hardware, and strap water heaters firmly to the wall. While we're there, we walk the house with you to locate the water and gas shutoffs, label them clearly and make sure everyone at home knows how to close them in the dark after a shake.

How soon can you come out?

Call or text a photo and we'll find the earliest slot that fits your building's rules and your schedule. Most jobs get on the calendar within a few days, and we move faster for a door that won't lock, a leak or anything that's keeping you from using a room.
